California Lovin'!

Last week, Caitie and I made our way to Cali to see our long lost BFF get married!!

Only a small portrayal of the craziness that came with living with Melissa.

We left before the you-know-what of dawn on Thursday morning and made it to Yorba Linda in 9.5 hours (special thanks to my fave car, Shelby). 

Upon arrival, we had a memorable reunion with Mel, (finally) met her boyfriend of 3 years/fiance then/husband now. Then, we made our way to the nail salon for the commencement of the bachelorette party! This consisted of...

...pedicures!...

...and the Melting Pot!

Sooooo good.

The next day was the wedding! I, naturally, was on babysitting duty and hung out with 6 of her nieces and nephews.

Yes, I let a 4-year-old play with my camera...she actually got some good pics!

So happy. :) Then, we headed to the wedding dinner! Amazing, house, view, food, and people.

 After the dinner, we headed to Carlsbad to stay with Caitie's aunt and uncle. We had some minor gas tank problems along the way...

...but it all ended up working out.

We had a blast in Carlsbad! Caitie's family definitely showed us a good time.

We played on the beach...

...learned how to surf...

...ate lunch at Cessy's...

...experienced Trader Joe's...

...and ate dinner in San Diego.

We had such a great time and are so grateful to those who showed us so much hospitality along the way. 

After some more gas tank confusion, lots of talking, and some movies, we made it home!

(Yes, Caitie and I are wearing the same shirt...you'd think we'd be done with our accidental matching now that we are no longer roommates...)

So there you have it! It was a great weekend. I want to go back to the beach!
